The September meeting of TEW
Tuesday, September 10th 2013 commencing at 6:00 pm at the Nancy Rodriguez Community Center. This month’s presentation will cover platters and will be given by Vic Myers. Vic is going to show different methods of securing the platter in a chuck, tightening on tenon or expanding in recess, how to make both with screw chuck or between centers He will also talk about design and stability of the base, and finishing with texture or color. There are still a couple of openings for the October workshop on Thursday October 10th with Paul Fennell. We do need to fill the class or cancel it. As this is our first professional demonstrator, we would like to fill the two days of classes for the demonstrator and set the stage for other professionals to come to our club in the future. Undecided or are just thinking about joining this class, please contact Penny and let her know. Paul likes to hear from the students as to what they want from the class so that he can personalize the instruction. I will also have a list of things that you will need to bring, i.e. safety glasses, etc. As one who has taken classes from Paul, I can assure you this class is a golden opportunity not to be missed.
