2015 January 12 – Meeting Announcement

Monday- 6PM- Jan 12, 2014   Enchanted Woodturners Meeting

Nancy Rodriguez Community Center

Al Mirman will show how to make, from scratch start to finish, a hollow vessel using the Trent Bosch Visualizer system.  Watch the video | http://trentbosch.com/introducing-the-trent-bosch-visualizer/

What’s different about Trent’s Visualizer?  On a TV screen you can and will see exactly where the cutting tool is inside the vessel, which gives you absolute precision wall thicknesses. (You can use a computer screen at home if you don’t have a TV).
Scratch start to finish means: 1.  how to prepare the blank for hollowing;  2.  hollowing the vessel using the Trent’s stabilizing system ( i.e. a contraption like Lyle Jamieson’s or anyone else’s, except this is Trent’s contraption)   3.  post hollowing finishing.

This will be a fabulous demonstration!

The Nancy Rodriguez Community Center, 1 Prairie Dog Loop.

The meeting will start promptly at 6PM with a buffet and open bar, so be on time!

David

P.S.  Come and cheer for the longevity of your new officers, you may be nominated to fill a vacancy.

Project Studio at the SFCC

Many members have gone through the gambit of Al Mirman’s courses offered at the Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) to learn from basic to advanced to open project courses.

On October 20, 2013, we caught up with 2 veteran turners — here is what they were creating!
