Santa Fe High School – Club Project 2015

Several members, Dave, Allan and Cleve in particular have really been busy for about a month.  They have firmed up a project with the Santa Fe High School.  The wood workshop has several lathes, tools, and accessories.  These TEW members have gotten together with the teacher (Dana R.) and the principal to work out a plan for community support of the project.

Here are a few pics taken during the first day of demonstrations at the school.  In two 90 minute class periods over 50 students really enjoyed seeing spindle and bowl turning.  And in one case, bowl flying!

Meeting Notice from November 12, 2013

grinder 11-2013 benefits

At last night’s TEW meeting, we agreed to upgrade our grinding station wheels to the CBN wheels. The offer from KJR is $249.95 plus shipping for the two wheel set. That is approximately $50 more for two wheels than other vendors are selling just one wheel and is a tremendous savings. If you are interested in purchasing these CBN and would like to participate in the club purchase, please let me know by the end of next week (Friday, Nov. 22nd). I will consolidate the orders and let you know of the payment schedule.

Thanx,
Alan
